Cargo trailer to camper conversion

We now have a decent 8x18 cargo trailer. We are going to make it our toy hauler, so we are going to insulate it.  I like to draw on others experience when possible. What did you use for insulation? I am planning to use 1/4 plywood to cover the walls and ceiling. Side walls are already covered with the 1/4 plywood.

Will be running wires from a panel to facilitate a generator or other ac power supply.

How cold is it going to be? And are you going to use a heater inside?

I'm insulating our camper van with a layer of Reflectix (aluminized bubble wrap) and two inches of isocyanurate foam board (aluminized on both sides), with fiberglass stuffed into the steel ribs, plus plywood panelling over. This will total about R16. With a propane heater I expect the system -- along with a couple of good down sleeping bags -- will get us through winter nights at 8,000 feet.

Isn't that's a lot to tow behind your Guzzi?    I mean, I know they have lots of grunt, but there are limits.

Installing twin turbo's to facilitate the towing!

Unfortunately, my wife cannot ride any distance any more. So we will be using my 2013 RAM 2500 with the Cummins diesel to drag this trailer along. Eventually, we may obtain a 5th wheel toy hauler.

I've got a little fiberglass trailer we use for a few (usually 1) trip a year. It has a A/C heater combo on top but for heat we usually just use a small ceramic heater on low. It doesn't have any insulation and seams fine. We just throw a old matress in it and a few sleeping bags and she's home sweet home each May for the 2-stroke rally at deals gap.

Going your route, I'd look at Forrest River's Work and Play trailers. Quality cargo trailers made into low ride toy haulers. There's probably some construction info somewhere on their site as far as highlighting features as well as layout ideas.
