Paging rocker....

Mike, I'm having a few issues with the private message function. I've sent you some instructions on disassembling the Sport C bevelbox. If they havent come through email me and I'll send 'em to you direct.

Likewise Sam. If my PM's aren't getting through? Email me.

Pete

Pete,

Check your PM.

This is what I saw tonight when I pulled the rear wheel.  Looks to me like the new Viton big seal is leaking around the output shaft.

It's the Viton seal, as used in the V11 series.

The Sport 1100 originally had the black rubber big seal, like the other older big blocks.

Seal material shouldn't make a difference but Viton is betterer. Doesn't look like the inner seal although the grease is *wet*. I'd try another new seal and clean the running surface carefully.

Thanks Pete.

New seal ordered this morning.  In the mean time, I have wiped all the excess grease from inside the output shaft and off of the big seal.  I'll remount the wheel and ride it a little while I'm awaiting delivery of my new seal.  I'm really hoping it's just a problem with the big seal that I installed a few hundred miles ago.  We'll see.

I'll pull it this weekend for another look, and to install the new big seal.  I need this bike to survive a 1000 mile ride here in a couple weeks!
