V7II with Silver Cast Wheels ... different

I saw another V7series customization - stock cast wheels in silver color ... gives a different look to the bike.


Another variation ...with deep dish aluminum rims laced to stock hubs....

Those rims look heavy duty!

But I've always liked black wheels, since long before they became popular (and will long after they go out of style).

BTW, saw my first V7II in person as I was leaving a dealer the other day. Didn't want to turn around to check it out, but will be heading back there next week...hope to inspect it closer then.

We'll see what happens this week or so.

Hopefully it will be ready by Monday, the start of our week long "staycation".

Massimo is very personable and has said all the right things the 2-3 times we've met and spoken now, so I feel cautiously optimistic.

We decided to just go ahead and have them do the WORKS on the bike - Desmo service, belts, all the neglected fluids (brake, clutch, fork), and of course throw a rear tire on because the old one was getting close to the wear bars when Jenn managed to puncture it on something.

Depending on whether or not they can proactively reset the maintenance light (it's only at 6800 miles so the wrench hasn't illuminated yet), we'll decide whether we'll 2-up it on the V7 to pick it up or the Sporty.

I'll take the V7 is the light won't need to be reset in 500-700 miles, so that way I can have him check/update the map.

I'll take the Sporty (more comfortable 2-up) if we're going to have to ride back up there by the end of the week to reset the service light, cause I can take the V7 up THEN to update the map.

I was out on the Special yesterday, rode with a friend to lunch.  Sat in restaurant for about 1 1/2 hours, then geared-up and tried to leave after the bike was running for less than a minute.  Stalled twice as soon as I was rolling out of the lot.  RARELY happens to me as I always let the bike "warm up" for a couple minutes.

The green bike?    I like the wheels, but, that tan seat is hideous!

Seeing the thread title I thought "big deal..."

Seeing the bike I say, "Yup, BIG deal" and really dig it. Appeals to the 80's superbike lover in me.

That green bike? Anything that makes the cylinders and exhaust look out of proportionately diminutive is a step in the wrong direction for me. That green bike... That's a couple of steps.

Pirelli Scorpion Trail (series one). From the looks of things; Pirelli has axed it in favour of a newer/better Scorpion Trail 2.
No 18" fronts in the new line. I've ordered a set of first run skins (one front, two rear) on clearance ... next year's tires.

I think the silver cast wheels make the bike appear lighter.

White tires would allow even more interesting combinations. Early automobiles and motorcycles had them.
