A couple of years ago, Dan rode his Eldorado from California to the Nationals in Lavigne, Ontario, where we met briefly.

Clearly such a trifling ride wasn't enough.  Right now, he's on the road, heading to Newfoundland via my place in Ontario and the Nationals in New Hampshire. He should be at my place this weekend.

Of course, the bike is far too old and fragile to attempt such a journey, but you just can't tell some people...........

Nick

PS Last message I had, he was just starting the Natchez Trail.  Keep an eye out for him as he heads north.

Supposed to be here Thursday. Headlight switch issue, possibly related to the load from all of the lights on the rear of the bike and trailer.

Dan made it to my place this afternoon. The bike is holding up well.  Shaun rode up from the Toronto area just to say hello.

3 Loops together!

He's heading to the National next, then on to Newfoundland.

Dan left for Lake Placid, then, ultimately the Nationals this morning.

Buy him a beer at the rally when you see him  :boozing: - he likes the Amber stuff!

True, true

By the way I really enjoyed your article in Real Classics, great read as always. I wish I could put pen to paper like that but then again my high school English teacher was going to fail me and only gave me a 50 to pass if I promised to pursue something technical in post secondary.

Thanks Jim - but then, there are those bikes you play with .  I don't have a fraction of your skill in that direction - and I'm not that hot at designing buildings either.

Still, I'm sure we both ride good well. :thumb:

Haven't heard anything from Dan to the contrary, so I guess the new headlight switch and relay we wired in to handle all of the running lights are both working well.

Yes, they were working well when he was here.  He spoke highly of your work and for looking after his bike's needs at short (no pun intended) notice.

Funny you should mention that, Chuck, as we discussed those with Dan when the bikes were together.  Those are actually hand-painted on by a hot rod guy!  The bags are a work or art, and Dan mentioned a few times how much work he had into restoring them!

Cheers,
Shaun

Dan is still on the move.

"Hey Nick,
I thought this was a cool picture of Tallulah in the Ferry going from St. John, NB to Digby, NS.
I am currently in Halifax. Not going too far tomorrow because I want to spend some time at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. After the museum I am going to a campsite in Tangier then heading toward the Cabot trail as advised. Those Wild Guzzi Boys should like that picture.
Until later,
Dan"

Dan has made it to Newfoundland on his trusty Eldorado.

In a roughly straight line that's about 4000 miles, but I know Dan doesn't do straight lines.

Bravo Dan!   :thumb:
