Iridium plugs for the single TB V7

Nobody lists a cross reference for Iridium plugs in the newer V7.  Turns out the CR8EIB-9 (product 5258) is the one to get.  Expensive as hell so they MUST be better.  Seriously, I have had great results using Iridium plugs in other bikes so thought I'd try them in the baby block.  In the Stelvio I got faster starts, particularly when cold.  She also seemed to run better hot or cold.  It might be my imagination but I think I got slightly better fuel mileage.

I've used wire electrode plugs in engines that were prone to fouling plugs, and they do seem to resist that somewhat better than standard plugs, but I've never noticed any performance gains, easier starting, or anything like that.

Use the Ir. in my V7C, 23K still look like new. Have a set in my Tri. Sprint with 38K same deal. Definitely better cold starting, never noticed better mileage. Try Sparkplugs.com for a more reasonable price. The NGK website will give you correct crossover #'s.

Another option is to swap the spark plug boots for NGK XD05f and use the iridium plugs from Denso, part number IU24 (5632)...

Try it...no joy.  The closest thing is what they list as the V 70, 700cc, no plug listed.

I like them in the V11 lemans. Better response. The stock Lario didn't notice a difference. Should try in this Lario. I'm curious about your findings. I'm a believer.

Personally... I wouldn't dare roll a beaver anywhere. They cut trees down with their teeth.

As I remember, there was a Hot Rod Magazine article back in the '70s, and a race team had some mechanical problems that put them out of the race.  The lesson learned was stated to be "When the Brussels Sprout..."

The correct NGK plug is CR8EIB-9

Cost about $8 apiece at various online sources.
