The bucket and fairing are the same. The difference is the ring and bulb.

Has anyone ever documented, preferably with pictures the exact differences with the headlights?

The Euro one looks like a Beemer one too.

Euro head light rim will not fit on US housing.

I have  the CEV Euro  LM  Headlamp or perhaps we could call it V50( thats where mine came from). When I get the ring back from powder coating I will check if the bezel and bulb combo will bolt up to the US LM1 bucket. I have always been curious

Stein Dinse has a Chrome one only. Harpers parts Online illustrated List has had a dead link for  the LM1 for quite awhile now. Otherwise a black used V50 0r SP1000 headlamp may be the only other option.http://www.stein-dinse.biz/images/product_images/popup_images/28740533-g.jpg
