75W90 synthetic smoothed out the trans.

Got a gas tank on the way, this one leaks out the top and bottom from rust. Must have laid up a while.

Now, a question. Does anybody have experience with fitting a windshield to a T3? Any recommendations that will save me time and money with brackets and cutting and drilling and welding?
Don't go away, saddlebag brackets are sometime in the future.

     National plexistarII bolts on there with minimal grindage of plastic around the upper forks. I like the protection, but then that is a personal thing.

Depends how much coverage you want. With minimal problems I use a the upper SPI fairing.

I had a rifle super bike fairing on the t-3 I had,good protection and clean air.

I always thought that putting synthetic in the tranny or rear drive would create some seepage past the seals...maybe this is just an old and faulty memory here.  Regular dino gear lube in both with 20cc of Moly in the rear drive is what I have been using...and measuring the lube vs using any level holes should be the rule too.  750cc in tranny and a total of 250cc (230 dino +20 moly) in the rear drive.

If this is wrong, someone will be by shortly to correct this...anyone?

That's later. Should be useful, I sold the truck so she is my only transportation besides the bicycle and make grocery runs often.

Anything that will fit your standard looking handlebar/headlight setup would work ok if the parts are aligned evenly when bolted on. Lots of half screens or big barn door types come in universal fit versions. The big barn door types do  reflect a lot of the engine noise back at you, in my experience.

The guys with the same bike will have to tell their own particular experiences

Hey it's an old bike.
Built like a tractor and just as dependable. When the temp is 100'F an open face helmet is a must and highway speeds try to pull it off.

Running hot plugs for now.
Went through wrong jets, worn needles, worn out choke parts, warped 10.3g floats.
NGK nickle V-Groove plugs helped a lot before the latest rebuild. Worth a try at $1.99 ea.
Time for a plug check.

NGK  BP6ES are recommended. BP5ES run hotter to keep deposits burned off.
The BP6EY are groovy.
