JN has gone to be with the Lord
« on: June 24, 2015, 11:21:24 AM »
I got a call from JN's wife a little while ago. James Nolan Symth passed away around 4:30am this morning. His service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Oklahoma June 29th at 2:00pm. I believe Dorothy told me lunch would be served.
This saddens my heart, but I am so thankful I was able to go visit with JN a week or so ago. He was  in good spirits. I believe he was because of knowing he would soon be in Heaven.
JN told me one time when we were fixing to leave the Oklahoma rally that if he could of ever had a son that he would of wanted him to be just like me...That is something for someone to tell ya. I will miss my old friend.
For those that might want to send a card or something, here is JN's address:

Always enjoyed any time spent in JN's company. He always took the time to greet me  and share a few minutes. He taught me a lot. What a loss. Rest easy, sir.

JN sounds like he led a good life.

Blessings to his family.

May his new rides be just twisty enough, have smooth fast straights, and end with a frosty beer with friends.

J.N. was sharing early morning coffee with me at the Okie camp out circa '09 , sitting in front of his quik kamp . Not quite sun up , just a touch of morning fog , everyone else asleep . We started talking MCs and life , both of which he knew a great deal . Just two Okies sharing a quiet moment . Not the first or only time we had a nice fellowship , but something about that morning was very special .

Geez , the man started riding at 47 , I started at 14 , and he was one year short of my almost 47 years . Amazing .

One of my memorable moments with JN was 15 or so years ago at a rally at Lake Eufala. It was as hot and humid as a Okie summer afternoon can get when JN pulled in. He said "Hi" to all and then set up his camp. He then looked quite hot and thirsty so I offered him a iced down beer. His response was "that would be mighty nice". Later that day after we went out to supper and returned to the campgrounds JN says "there is a fine band playing at the VFW back home, hell I am going dancing. It was about one in the morning when he came riding back into camp. :boozing:

Over the years, I met and talked with JN at the New Mexico Rally in Datil.

I always made the point to shake his hand tell him he was an inspiration to all of us.  He was a real gentleman and a true Moto Guzzi enthusiast / motorcycle rider.

I can think of hundreds cf comments to make about JN to the good ones already posted.

I always knew him as JN and never knew his full name.

He'd come down here and park his KwikKamp and then continue on down to Lufkin to visit his brother. Although I get up early I still run the electric cord out for him to have his coffee. We'd sit on thefront porch abd talk for hours. He was one of eleven? that all lived long lives.

He won so many long distance awards that one year in Italy, Texas he said I'll leave early so "old Squaker" can finally get a long distance award.

A number of years ago he needed some mild heart work and told the Doc I can't have it done until after my last rally in October!

As I sit here at the keyboard there are so many things that come to mind when you think of JN. Gentleman !!
