Fitting MG V7 for SO, or finding another mega-cool bike she'll like

Thank you for looking.  She's on a 250 that she likes.  I have a mid-size cruiser and a VStrom for her to try, but she loves really cool engines (I don't know how I could get so lucky).  At the Indian dealership, she was actually fondling the huge V twin while sitting on the floor, and she even liked the Scout engine.  I have caught her fondling the cylinder heads on the Cali.  Harleys do nothing for her (Although I think some of the big V twins are great).

She needs to be able to go on multi-week light tours, but I am willing to upgrade suspension, wind protection, figure out the bag system etc.  Current small bike has trunk on rack and then bag on pillion, with saddlebags.

She sat on a V7 Stone and liked the general feel very much, but because of hip issues she wants more forward controls.  The Indian Scout, for example, she really likes the position on, which I couldn't stand. 

So I'm wondering whether there are MG variants with farther forward controls or whether forward control kits exist that will work without leg intersecting cylinders. 

In the alternative, suggestions for other bikes with beautiful V engines that she might look at, 650 to 1100 cc, in the sports cruiser type domain. 

As to handling, motor patrol officers do fine bolt upright.  I think it's a matter of what one is used to.  I really can't run in a sport bike position any more, but can get sufficient lean off the seat when upright to do some sprightly cornering.

Thank you very much for any suggestions.  I am hoping she really likes something in hand, but I want her to be happy.

Keep the mid controls on the V7, but add "highway pegs" to a set of engine guards, maybe?

Take a peek at the Yamaha Bolt? Or the Honda RS?

If she likes the 250... maybe a Honda Shadow VLX600? Easy to customize, too.

If the more forward controls of the Scout suit her, she should test ride one.    It's a great bike.

Problem with the Scout is that it is new only, so high $$$$.

Problem with most V twins is that the engines are not pretty to her eyes.

Interesting, because the forward controls on my California 1400 are a source of back pain for me--all the bouncing goes up my spine, vs into my legs.
But to answer your question: Maybe a Ducati Scrambler for her? And I see lots of women on Triumph Bonnevilles around here.

 Sounds like a candidate for Jackal ownership . Not the lightest or fastest , Kev m came up with a figure of 530 Lbs or so dry , but sure footed , and simple to maintain . Also able to carry luggage and gear easily , low enough seat height , and not a bunch of unnecessary bling . Plus , she can hug the cylinders , we REALLY need a pic of that  Oh , inexpensive to purchase .

Or put the Racer seat on it and she can slide back.  True forwards will make the "sail in the wind" that much more on a V7.
Into a real strong headwind I'll place my feet on the pillion pegs and lean into it.

best to consider moving at 60mph as well as sitting on bike in showroom.

She's highly familiar with wind blast.  Between the two of us, we've been able to cobble together effective, relatively low resistance protection suitable to various climes.  She has been on the back in the back, though.  The Jackel does indeed sound interesting.  I just have to get her obsession into a path that is suitable!!!!

Over the next few weeks, she'll try the VL800 Suzuki, an America, a couple of Harleys.  That's all I know about right now. She's been on the Scout, but not driving.

I love my V7, and my Sportster, and I like the Scout.

I can't imagine the V7 or any Bonnie but the America with the riding position you're talking about, never mind the Ducati.

The Jackal could be close to what she might want, but like the Sportster it's heavy, and it's taller...

I dunno, I'm thinking Scout probably fits the bill best.

Standard pegs from the factory.  2" rear suspension travel.  I'd skip it.

   The Yamaha Warrior is kind of cool with forward pegs, and, they are a few years old now and relatively inexpensive. Obviously I can't say if she likes the look or not.

I assume you're describing the 883L SuperLow.

Or at least trying to.

I've got extensive experience with the current rubbermount L models, having owned 2 and I service 1 for a friend.

They ALL fit smaller/lighter people just fine, people anywhere from 4 10 to 5 4 and on the lighter side that I know have had not a single complaint about the suspensions.

Taller/heavier people like you and me, well that can be a bit different. But even then, my current XL1200Lr gained most of the benefit from a taller rear suspension and I've got no complaints even at my size.
