ISO Better stock map GuzziDiag 2007 Breva 1100
« on: July 18, 2015, 12:07:36 AM »
Does anyone have a better ECU map for a 100% stock Breva 1100?  I would like to make it run better and cooler ... But... I really don't know where to start with fuel mapping.  I eventually would like to remove the cat/foot heater as well.

I have this loaded

IAW 5AM PF1C
05729530/B
IAW5AMHW610
2230BA10
5AMC0

We (myself and a qualified guzzi mechanic) have been playing with the stock map quite a bit because of persistent pinging. Right now I am running a modified Breva 1200 sport map which has gotten rid of most of the pinging. It'll still ping at ambient temperatures above 90 degrees F after long idling. Or under extreme load like full throttle, 2up. It pings between 3500 and 4500 rpm.

On monday we're trying a new map which is the base Breva 1100 map with the ignition advance table from the 1200 Sport pasted in.

You can make it run a LOT cooler by putting the lambda sensor into open loop, but the bike runs very rich, smells of fuel (not as much as a carbed bike) and gets a lot worse gas mileage.

Unknown Table1?

I would just like to confirm I have the proper XDF file.  From what I have read I need the 5AM_GuzziDiag_One_L ambda_V1.29 XDF file
I downloaded the bin from the ECU on the bike, backed up and hidden elsewhere on my PC as well.

What is the best way to go about adjusting the maps? I'm guessing dyno and someone who knows what they are doing.

if you switch to the parameter category view it might make more sense. It is the right xdf.

You can download TunerPro to modify the maps here http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm.

The software is free, however you do need to have at least a decent idea of what it is you're doing. If you advance the timing or lean out the mixture too much you'll damage your engine in a hurry.

Dyno tuning is THE way to go, but it's also quite expensive. If you do go the way of the dyno I would be very interested to try the map that results from that.

I have tuner pro, that is what the screen shot is from, and the GuzziDiag software. I am just not an EFI master, which would help, www.efi101.com, but then I would need access to a dyno.  If I'm going to spend the money on dyno testing, I might as well spend the money on the intake and exhaust.

I understand that data logging would be helpful, but I was unable to use the resources I had to log my ECU.  I have an ELM 327 bluetooth OBD2 adapter and Torque Pro, but the ECU is not 100% OBD2 compliant.  This means that Torque Pro won't connect to the ECU.  I am searching for a VCDS, VAGCOM, KLINE, logger in the android market. My bluetooth adapter does have the proper com protocol, but I need something to translate and log it (a DBC file for can would be awesome).  Which if the developer of GuzziDiag could make a logger application for Android, we could rough tune on road trials.

Yeah, I just found it and I was testing it while you were writing your response.  It works relatively well, now to determine what data I need logged.  Then, what to do with it after I log it.  My Vgate adapter works properly with the software.
