Due to a recurrence of ham-fistedness, a couple of parts for the front aftermarket wheel on my 1200 Sport needed replacing. Good thing I had the original wheels, which I used with new Pirelli Angel GTs (excellent tires I must say) to ride the loneliest highway across Nevada. But I digress…
I tried unsuccessfully to work with the distributor in Italy, and several vendors. Only HPS in England would even bother to respond to my request. And respond they did!
• Not having the parts in stock, they contacted the distributor several times, apparently without success.
• When the gentleman handling my case went on holiday, as they say in England, the Managing Director assumed responsibility.
• While on a trip to Italy, a member of their team visited the distributor and picked up the parts.
In my book, these guys get an A+, five gold stars, and a Distinguished Service Cross for demonstrating service to the customer that is unheard of these days.
• Did they give up after no response from the distributor on the first attempt? NO! Second attempt? NO!
• Did they drop the ball when the guy handling my case went on holiday? NO!
• Did they go the extra mile by appearing in-person at the distributor in another country to obtain the parts? YES!
And HPS kept me informed of progress (or lack thereof) during the process that spanned the period from late April through late July.
