Those bloody Ozzies,
« on: August 08, 2015, 08:44:21 AM »
... have just beaten us in a rugby game. 27 to 19 !!! Un, Fricking,  Believable!  (It's all down to a loss of national morale because of the attempt of Govt. to change the flag.)

Not to worry, we've just put them in their place to regain the Ashes.

Yes, the rugby win pales into insignificance when you look at the performance in the cricket! All out for sixty! For f*cks sakes!

Well Australia is your superior bigger brother, so that's just nature's order, isn't it?

Was your mouth out with soap and water!!!

Actually John,  I am in Oz at the moment on holiday with the bro-in-law in Brisbane.  He was very gracious
Not sure that his son-in-law will be when we see them today.

However,  knowing the Poms got their cricket team out for sixty will help. :thumb:

1 rugby win against the all blacks in 11 games.
Christchurch will sink and the suicide rate will increase, hens will stop laying and the bars in Bondi will be full of greiving kiwis.
Kiwis got to realise that once you hit the top, the only way from there is down.
No doubt the balance will return to the land of many sheep next weekend at Eden park in unzed when we try to break the 29 year hoodoo of not winning and in all probability fail.
However if we win expect much nashing of teeth, cardiac arrests and bleating on an unprecedented scale.

True Jim. This was Rugby union though, the original form of the game more or less. It's just about as bad.

Actually Klaus Empire is the wrong word these days since with careful nurturing the whole thing became a commonwealth of independent nations long ago. (not thought highly of by US authorities) In any case I agree. Cricket remains largely unintelligible to those  outside the Commonwealth  or ex members of it, as are many other things come to think of it.

Interesting is it not, that both rugby and cricket, games whose only resemblance is that they use a ball, originated in the same land.

Not to forget football !  ( "Soccer" for some of the colonists )

Well Soccer (football) came 1st of course.

The story goes that in a place called Rugby (in England Dusty) a schoolboy soccer game was underway when one of the players who was somewhat fed up and frustrated grabbed the ball, tucked it under his jersey and ran like hell for the other end. The opposing players pursued and pounced on him with great glee.  The game of Rugby Union was born.

On the plus side of the trans Tasman ledger, we beat the Ozzie Netball team tonight! Yea!!! (47 to 43 I think)
