I've a 2004 V11 Sport Ballabio. On one cold start out of about ten there is a slight delay from when I push the starter button, maybe half second or so, before the starter engages. No solenoid click, just the very slight delay, then the starter rolls the engine over at the normal cranking speed and the bike starts. The battery is a near new odyssey and is at full charge. Fuel pump humms and all the lights light up when I turn the key on. And here's the thing--the delay thing happens only on cold start up. I can shut the bike off, then start again any number of times and there's no delay. It never happens on a hot engine. I have high quality replacement relays, and all connectors, battery terminals, grounds, starter connections are tight and clean. I am thinking there may be something going on with the starter or solenoid, or perhaps the starter handlebar switch, although it looks fine inside and I sprayed it with contact cleaner. Anybody experience this sort of thing before? Thanks!
