Norge rear shock

I have a 2012 Norge and while doing some other work on it I noticed a drip from the triple connecting rod on the rear suspension. Upon further examination the swingarm above it has an oily residue on it and it appears to be running down the swingarm onto the linkage then drips on the floor. The shock is dry but the preload adjuster knob has a fine coat of oil on it so I suspect I have a leaky preload adjuster. Can anyone confirm the color of the oil used in the preload adjuster. The fluid in question in my case is green and it is light weight. additionally, has anyone had any luck with repairing this or am I looking at a new shock?

If the bike is still under warranty, I would go that direction first.  Having purchasing a new 2014, I do find faults in this rear shock and I am also looking to up grade for a better ride while riding two up. Yes, the rear spring is still soft, so I'm thinking of going with a Wilber's Shock. Best bag for the buck, but still not cheap, figure $850 for the unit which includes the remote spring adjuster.  A few dollars less than anything else I have found, check them out at: beemershop.com

When did the drip start? If it started to drip before the warranty expired and you recorded it and even better reported it to a dealer, then the warranty still apples.

That is why I say report any failure to a dealer or the factory is you don't have a dealer close by. A documented failure, even with the cause unknown protects your rights and gains coverage by warranty. That applies in the USA, might be different in other countries.

Oil drip? Record it. Bike under warranty, report it. Get it in writing or send via email. That doesn't mean you have to take it in for any little thing but when you do get in, have all the notes handy.

You might have to do some convincing and maybe arm twisting but not documenting these things for sure means you are SOL unless someone takes pity on you.
