Vintage mapping - any guess as to what I have ?
« on: September 23, 2015, 03:29:35 PM »
While trouble shooting my latest self induced charging failure, I created a spreadsheet containing everything the previous owners had done to the bike.

Phillip, the first owner, had receipts in the stack that showed as follows :

Component    mileage    date      owner

bend shifter and replace bolts for front subframe       20020216    Phillip

crossover exhaust, Lafranconi, head pipe site with crossover & head clamps      20021121   Phillip

Map install      20021122    Phillip

I am curious about that map install. Okay, and the " bend shifter " note, but mostly about the map install.

Any guess as to what would have been a fashionable map to install in a new 1999 Bassa bought back east in 2000 and remapped in the end of 2002 ?

Do I need to go GuzziDiag to find out for real, or can I put a chicken at the end of the exhaust pipe and determine by the feather color ?

It's got the IAW15RC ECU, I assume?

Simple solution might be to save a copy of your existing map using Guzzidiag (actually IAW15xReader), and then drop in a stock map (using IAW15xWriter) if you know someone who has one.  I could provide you with a map for an EV Touring which I'm suggesting might be the same as your model (no lambda).

Others more knowledgeable hopefully will chime in whether a modified map loaded on the same ECU will have different identification to the stock version.
