mice have plugged my air box 3 times, so yes...

the 1400 has dual plugs, and one plug wire kicks in or out (I can't remember) at a particular rpm. it doesn't run on both all the time. Perhaps your mouse chewed through the high rpm wire???

plug in some of those electronic mouse chasers from Wal-Mart and put down some mothballs and decon
