Where to find oil caps?
« on: October 28, 2015, 01:26:58 PM »
Hi all - anyone know where I can find replacement original oil fill caps for 1973 V7?

Things I am currently trying to find, in all original form:

Pair of new tank emblems
Steering damper
Final drive fill cap (chrome)
Engine oil fill cap/dipstick (chrome)
Transmission fill cap (chrome)

The best way to find any part is by first getting a parts manual, and then finding the part number of the part.  Googling the part number will almost always bring you to several online sources.  Works like magic.

Interesting tactic - anyone have part numbers on these? They were chrome OEM on the V7 Sport...

Final drive fill cap (chrome)  12003701
Engine oil fill cap/dipstick (chrome)  14004900
Transmission fill cap (chrome)  120023701

All available at Harper's.  You'll have to check for yourself whether these are chrome.

Oh great - thanks. Placed order. Was a little confusing because oil fill was marked NLA - limited supply, but order went through anyway.
