It looks like the robot has training wheels.

.......and since a motorcycle is essentially a single person conveyance, one has to ask: why?

I can do what no robot will ever be able to do when it comes to riding, no matter how sophisticated the robot is or how good it can ride,

I will enjoy it.

I think Yamaha designed this as a tool to give precise feedback during testing. You have so many variables with a human rider. Not only rider to rider variations but also same rider different time variations. The same rider, for example, could lose 10-20 pounds between tests. Or hang off a little more on lap 2 compared to lap 1 in the same turn. A human rider comes back and says "yeah, it felt more planted when I leaned a little less". How much is a little less? With the robot Yamaha can quantify and track just how much "a little less" was and how that change affected the bike's performance. I think it's pretty cool.

I like the robots, like the ones in the Jetsons cartoon series, that vacuum and tidy up.

Robots dont have to look human, but I wouldnt mind.  :kiss:
