I'm thinking of colors for the tank and fenders on my 850T. Everything else is painted black. One of my favorite colors is British Racing Green, I love that shade, its a bit brighter and louder than the Guzzi dark green. Another color I like is the dark navy grey Revival Cycles uses on their customs. What do you think of these colors, any other ideas for colors? There's also a good chance I want to go all black, just afraid no one will notice me on our freeways

Ive always been partial to BRG with a saddle colored seat...Classic MG.........Morris Garages that is. As far as visibility, either the gray or green wont make much diff. I used to have a charcoal gray colored 87 Goldwing that would blend into the streets and freeways it seemed. It just disappeared kinda like a stealth aircraft, Cars would pull out in front of me all the time on that bike.Unbelievable for a huge friggen goldwing! Things were different when I wore a white or day glo helmet cars would see me then, so at least get a bright colored helmet.

BRG on an 850T would look terrific. Back in the late 90s I restored an 850T and painted it burgandy mist (common GM color in 67, 68) which had just a hint of metalflake in it. Really looked elegant as would BRG.

The other T I had I painted Laverda Orange for the reason bigbikerick stated above. Kinda worked on the vis side since it also had an SP fairing on it.

I like BRG, but don't know if I'd like the consequential drop in speed when switching from red.

I don't know about BRG... Seems a disservice to the color and Guzzi at the same time.

Now, John Deere Green? That seems just about right.

I just painted my April Falco British racing green and have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

A search indicates there is no precise definition of BRG?
Also that BRG increasingly is a metallic paint?
Maybe this could go for BRG?

Yes it could. BRM F1 cars were always the darkest pastel green, Lotus (before advertising paint schemes) a few shades lighter. Aston Martins were lighter still, almost a medium green, the later ones metallic. UDT Laystall and David Piper's sports cars were a light pastel green.

But I think the most commonly thought of shade is the dark pastel green that British Leyland painted Triumphs, MGs, and Jags in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Yes, the shade I prefer are from the 50's-70' Jags. Many of the earlier race cars had BRG that was almost black. Here's a cool video on the history of BRG
