Very cool stuff, and a sweet Jackal. I'll never understand the design mentality that went into the rear tailight cluster on these bikes. Must harken back to some design of yesteryear.

Good job on the repair as well, I'd missed this thread the first time around.

Thank goodness for this thread. I had no idea what a Jackal Hole was or what I'd do if one suddenly appeared. For a while I thought it might be a confused Jacksons Hole or even an off track ah-hole but due to this forum I know what to look out for.

True. Sometimes I have to really work at it to get him to take my money.. 

I know that well.  I showed up at Moto Guzzi Classics with a stripped sump plug wired in place on my 75° Anniversary California.  He replaced the plug, refilled with new oil and would not any more than $9!

Needless to say, I went and purchased a box of his favourite beverage as partial compensation.  What a guy!

Among the Ned's I've had built that two piece you have on my jackal there  er, I mean yr jackal, was by far superior imho to the one piece pans I had made for other valid.  So kinda perfect and looks good too.

We've decided to sell the Jackal, and figured it might get the most looks on Ebay.  (Hope it's OK to mention that here)  If you know anybody looking for a solid bike for little money, please pass the word.  We've had no problems with the bike at all, it just doesn't get ridden enough to justify keeping it.  For my size, I think I'd be much better suited to a V7 or V9.  Thanks again for all the help with the Jackal last year.

How much are you looking for and are you in a rush?

We have a member here who just lost his EV (no insurance) in the Smokey Mountain Fires.

There's been some low level talk about raising some funds to help him buy a replacement. Not sure if a Jackal would be what he's looking for but it's at least worth investigating before you put it on Ebay no?

We listed it last night Kevin, with a starting price of $1900.00.  We're not in a rush by any means.  I don't know much about the Ebay rules, but we could see about cancelling the listing if need be.

Nuts. I'm not real familiar with Ebay either, but I wouldn't want you to cancel it if it involved fees.

I just figured we could save the fees if he was interested.

We're just at the concept point of this so probably too soon anyway.

Looks like your Jackal had Hepco-Becker saddlebags on it once.  They are among the best bags you can buy.

Hopefully your Jackal frame is not bent, but to find out have you yet ridden it and someone follows behind you to see if it looks straight?

The accident damage was actually fairly minor Wayne, but pricey due to the cost of the accessories on the bike and Moto Guzzi parts in general.  The bags are on the bike and included in the sale.  The driving lights were badly rashed so we removed them.
