Lowering a Cali EV Touring with linked brake?

Hi all,

It has been a while since I have posted.

I finally decided to get a bike that was made in this century after riding ( and still do ) my Ambo and Eldo for about 35 years.

I have read the archives about the Hydro motors and their issues and have checked with a Guzzi new model dealer about the "campaign's" that were needed for my S/N. Per the dealer all is good per the report!!

I have searched the archives for an answer to this. Nothing that I could find.

I would like to lower my 2004 EV California Touring about 1 maybe 2 inches. I did read about sliding the fork tube up as needed on one model, but I couldn't find anything on the rear shocks. I did read something on the linked brake and shock height, but it was for a different model.

Is there a way to l change the rear shocks to say a 13-13.5" (as used on a stock Eldo, have a set of stock Koni's) or 12-12.5" and still keep the "linked brake" working properly? The bike has the chrome cover that runs from about the passenger foot peg to about the tail light and I would like to keep that if I can.

I am a little nervous about the linked brake system, well maybe more than a little, need to read up on it. So I don't want to mess that up. I hope there is a solution with shorter shocks and lowered forks.

The valve for the integrated brakes is adjustable, and can be adjusted to work fine with the new height.
It doesn't do a whole lot and you wouldn't notice that it was even adjusted wrong.

The latest Cali's got away from the lever on swingarm, went back to a single splitter valve.
That would be the Vintage bikes w/twin plugged heads.
