Quality time with the V7 Special this late November afternoon
« on: November 21, 2015, 05:13:02 PM »
Any day it is sunny and 50 degrees in late November around here is a great day to ride.     So, I took the opportunity spend some quality bonding time with my new-to-me V7 Special.

This was a day of exploring some of the roads that cross my regular riding roads, just to see where they went.     The V7 is perfect for these type of rides.   Often times when riding my Ducati, I'm out for canyon carving, hoping that no slow vehicles get in the way on my favorite twisty sections.    The V7 is the perfect bike upon which to just slow down and explore, maybe stop, and take a picture or too.    Oh, don't get me wrong, I still had fun in the corners on parts of the ride, but, overall, I took a slower pace, and enjoyed it  :thumb:

Very cool pics, and good on you.  I too am wondering if something a little more laid back might be in my future?  I do love my B1100!  It pushes my fun buttons, but I also could benfit from slowing down, just a tad, and actually enjoying the world going by!  The B1100 is by no means fast, but it is capable of moving so fast I have to pay BIG TIME attention to every tiny nuance.   A bit more laid back bike, allow the rider to be more in the feel of the moment, and not so much anticipating the next event.   Anyway, its fun to think about, and keep posting your ride pics.

Just as a aside.  I do like my v65sp, but it is a long way from a modern small block, both in power availability and application, not to mention suspension!  And you guys think your stock V7/II suspension sucks! :azn: :azn:

Bingo, that was the move I made from my B11 to my V7!

Very good looking ride. That Dart Fly Screen just looks period correct on this bike. I have the same one on a CB1100   :thumb:

South Central PA.    The pictures of the stone houses are near Pine Grove, PA, the others are in Lebanon County.

With cold weather here, I'm slowly putting bikes away for season.    I'll ride the F800GT year round (so long as the roads are dry, and mostly salt free), and will ride the V7 Special up until the first snow or ice event brings the salt trucks out.

Today, it was the V7 Racer's turn for the Seafoam in the tank, and one last ride before a clean up and oil change, and then off to sleep on the battery tender until spring

Summer is coming on strong here.
I commute on the bike most days and was able to get out on it for some fun on the weekend.
Zipping around the country roads here I realised that my decision to buy the V7-II has to go down as one of my best decisions in life.
Cheers
