If that was the L.A Guzzi National, you got ripped off. That 1 does not represent all the other Nationals. Each 1 is designed and run by it's MGNOC state rep. that schedules it. Some are better than others. John Day is 1 of the better efforts as are the Elkader Iowa rallies.
Been to both among many others. Skipped the L.A. National rally since I knew the state rep.
I think that's a bit harsh.
Organising something like a rally IS very time consuming and quite frankly you can never please everyone. As most people know I don't have a huge amount of time for Todd or the stuff he spruiks and sells but he did organise a site at a park in the hills North of Malibu surrounded by some beautiful riding roads.
The reason I've been to a few National Rallies is to meet people and chew the fat. If I get fed as well? So much the better but I'm never going to hold any organiser up to some sort of 'Gold Standard'! Sod that!
I do have to say though that the John Day site is nice and fun and there are some great roads around there, albeit swarming with bloody deer when I was there!
Oh, and John? If you liked the 68s map I put in to your bike? I can give you one of Mark's that will make a bit of wee come out! :D
