California 1400 advise
« on: November 29, 2015, 07:51:11 PM »
I'm trying to remove the lid to the air box on my 1400.  I have all 4 clips loose but the bottom of the lid feels like it is still being held on and I don't want to force it.  I need some advise from one of you 1400 owners that has done this to give me some pointers.

It is a very tight squeeze. and the bottom of the cover has two or three plastic tenons that plug into matching holes in the bottom of the box. You have to open the top a little and then lift up and out. Definitely have to remove the battery first. And the bottom two clips are a real pia to get back on. Because of the bottom being tenoned in. I deemed my bottom clips unnecessary and omitted reinstalling  them. Hope this helps, dave

Thanks Dave
Battery must come out.  Was hoping to not remove it but I guess not.
