Did you buy a new Guzzi this year?
« on: December 07, 2015, 08:25:28 PM »
Lots of ohs and ahs and I might go down and get one when there are price reductions.

How many actually bought a new ( brand new from a dealer) this past year?

I bought new Guzzis in 2013 and 2007, and a lightly used one in 2003.

A new Guzzi was the last bike I bought.

I just bought a new Jeep (literally one week ago) so I'm probably out of the game for 2016, but we'll likely buy another new bike by 2017.

A V9 Stone would likely put me over the edge, otherwise I'm leaning towards a T120.

I test rode a V7II and an Aprilia Dorso. I bought a 2014 Shiver. The kick from the DOHC 750 in the Shiver was what did it.

In terms of a New Guzzi, I think the Griso is still a worthy mount- though not as versatile as my 1200S. The Stelvio certainly seems versatile. The 1400 is a great bike if it fits you. However, other than the 1400, they are falling behind fast. If the big news is an all style, no go hipster mount (V9), you won't find me staying with the brand.

I bought a 2016 V7 Racer six weeks ago from Brookside motors in Tulsa.  Love the bike.  It is an exponential improvement over my 2010 V7C.

I bought two-a V7 and a Norge.  I knew exactly what I wanted and the Guzzi bike were it.  Got rid of some great bikes to get them but after a few test rides I was sold.  Unlike some (which I understand) I was not interested in the highest HP or latest electrical gadgets.
I don't need them.  Having had 400 lb 125hp bikes-well, no thanks.

The best part is that whatever a rider might desire they can find someone to make it for them.

Bought a new 2013 stone in white just last August.  My daughter, a rock climbing yoga instructor with a passion for life, now wants to learn to ride.

She loves to ride pillion but is waiting to take a local MSF course when time allows.

Nope.  No new ones.  Got my neighbor to seriously look at the new ones at GP Motors in San Diego.  He's going for the 1400 Cali Custom.  Wants to give up his HD Deuce.  I getting him to the dark side.

No. Bought my V7 Stone new in 2013. No need to look for a new bike less than 3 years later.

Yes, two of them. I bought a new Norge very early in the year, and then I bought another new Norge a couple of weeks ago. Both white 2014 models. (The first one met an untimely end at the hands of a speeding school teacher.)

MY14 V7R

I contacted MI on a V7S I saw on their site.  Then Dave said he had a V7R he had just gotten hold of and was actually a better deal.  I had him add a 2-up seat for the Mrs.

An in-state Iron Butt in NH?  How many times did you have to circle the state?

So as of the last post that's 10 new V7s vs. 7 new bib blocks.

Or 10 vs. 10 if count the slightly older ones.

It's a horribly small sample, but it seems to suggest what we've thought we've been hearing and seeing.

If true, the fact that smallblock makes up potentially as many sales as the rest of their models combined is telling.

No.  I came real close, twice.   I was all ready to pull the trigger on a new 2014 V7 Special in the fall of 2013, and was waiting for my 2009 V7C to sell when I found a deal that I couldn't refuse on a slightly used V7R.

I was "THIS CLOSE" to pulling the trigger on one of the super-discounted V7 Specials in August, but, the money wasn't available.  When the discounts were over,  I was lamenting not just borrowing for a few months to get one, when a great deal on a  practically new 2014 V7 Special came up (thanks, Cam).   It had less than 1,000 miles on it, and had just been purchased in August.

So, with two fairly new V7's in the garage, I won't be in the market for a new bike for a couple of years.    I have to admit, that if I was, the new Bonneville lineup definitely has my attention.

My view only, but if Ducati had that 400 Scrambler or If MG had a 500 at the time I bought I probably would have gone in that direction for my purposes.  I am however very happy going with the V7............I don't have the exact but it "must" be 100 pounds lighter?
