Charcoal Canister V11
« on: December 10, 2015, 08:12:11 AM »
On my '02 and '03 V11 LeMans there is a charcoal canister mounted down below the swing arm in front of the rear tire. I'm looking at a 2004 V11 via pictures and it is missing that canister. Did MG relocate the can for 2004 or its missing on this bike?

Thanks!

FWIW - Most people I know removed the canisters. About 5' of hose and a couple pounds. They did change over time.  The early ones were tucked under the seats and the later ones down as you describe.

As Ponti said, MG originally put the canisters under the seats - this was on the red-frame V11s. I think that starting in 2002 (with a change to the frame) they were fitted inside the exhaust hanger and remained there for the balance of production.

If you get that bike and decide you want a canister - I have a spare with all the hoses. Super easy to re-install.
