That is considerate.

My hopes are that everyone finds another bike to add to the stable and better yet if its a Guzzi, running for non wrenchers and projects for those that do.

Thoughts and hopes for those with challenges in life, wishes of good health and sound mind and that all those with us remain so for a long prosperous time. If ever there was a group of people who for the most part never see each other but prove out Bill Withers song, Lean on Me, it can be found here.

I'm NOT a Christian-Nazi.

But I celebrate Christmas.

So unless I know for sure you celebrate something else, I just say Merry Christmas.

It means the same thing as "Happy holidays, while specifying that's the one I celebrate." Nothing more, nothing nefarious.

So MERRY CHRISTMAS!  :azn:

(Though honestly I'm starting to think I need to celebrate Festivus - "now for the airing of the grievances")

Politically correct, since you don't know what it means... Unless you're a Finn and that's what Finns say to each other's during Christmas time. (And we sure aren't politically correct people)
To the remaining crew, I would like to wish Merry Christmas!

And for you other, otherwise disenfranchised out there; you woefully underrepresented harborers of - as of yet - un-aired grievances... a hearty "Pleasant Festivus" upon you'se.

Feats of strength to follow at a later date.

This totally reminds me of what is now a legendary Thanksgiving among my inlaw's (Jenn's brothers/sisters/cousins etc.).

We have a number of martial artists in the family as I've mentioned over the years. Jenn, her next two baby sisters (including the marine) and myself being the most serious, but all 7 of her siblings (and some of their significant others) have trained for a least a few years and have some rudimentary understanding.

Jenn has an uncle, he's a bit of character and I'll leave it at that, and not at all interested in the arts, or most physical activities. He's also a BIG guy (though after a gastric surgery and a complete change of lifestyle he's much smaller now, again, I'll leave it at that).

But one particularly drunken Thanksgiving he went on and on about how much bullshyte the martial arts were and how it would mean nothing when he outweighed his opponent by over 100# (which he did me at that Thanksgiving).

Our explanations of simple physics meant nothing, he basically demanded an demonstration. So the family poured out of the house onto the front lawn where he told me to "take him down". I thought he just wanted to see how in theory it would work and didn't realize for the first few seconds that he planned on resisting (belligerently) as much as possible, so he was a little more bruised and little more muddy than I think either of us had initially expected once I dropped him and held him in a choke hold until he was satisfied.

The aforementioned event is brought up pretty much annually in that household and referred to as:
THANKSGIVING FIGHT CLUB

Any reference to it instantly brings howling laughter to the room.

Poodles send tail wags.

They are hoping for a fresh bale of chewy treats from Santa-Poodle.  Daughters always find new toys for them to put in their poodle-stockings (hung with care by the fireplace already).

What I want is loan approval on our new house mortgage before Christmas.  Otherwise I would be very happy with a new sport-watch that is both water proof, large dial, has a date and that rain and salt water won't eat up.  A Negroni on Christmas eve would be nice too.

As a brutal and hardened atheist I have no problem with Christmas or any other celebration. As long as it promotes peace and goodwill to all men, (And women and kids etc.) that's just fine and dandy by me.

Have to say I hate the greedfest and wasteful consumerism of what 'Christmas' has become.
