IF you want the part number to order a kit, you need to choose the correct one:

A. Kit, for bikes with the later rocker covers and the paint dot in the head paint. 1A002060. This should be Norge 8V and any of the others apart from the Sport 1200 manufactured after the middle of 2012.

B. Kit. For bikes made between mid 2010 and mid 2012 with the plug tube sealed by an O-Ring, referred to as the 'Non Floating' rocker covers but with a 'Dot' in the paint. 1A002063

C. Kit. For all pre mid 2010 bikes with 'Non Floating' rocker covers and no paint 'Dot'. 1A002082. These require the head to come off for the shims so you get all the gaskets and shims, oil seals etc.

The C kit is very expensive as it include valve shims and valve seals, plus THREE sets of head gaskets (depending on the gasket thickness that comes off).

Thank you for that valuable information!

Even at those prices, it would seem prudent to find a nicely-kept older Norge to convert and still be money ahead vs. the cost of new...

From an unnamed source..

What I was going to point out was that if people are going to rollerise on their own dime there are significant advantages to using an 'A' kit even if the bike requires a 'B' or 'C' kit.

While the 'A' kit doesn't contain the head/exhaust/inlet gaskets or the valve shims/stem seals and will require the purchase of a pair of 'Short' spark plug tubes to replace the long ones used on the earlier motor along with new rocker covers of the 'Floating' type it has a significant advantage.

The early, 'Non Floating' rocker covers are poisonously expensive! Over here they are nearly $400 each! Even in the US they are $200 or so! For some inexplicable reason though the later 'Floating' type retail for $40-45! Why? Absolutely no idea! But if one is going to keep one's 8V for any length of time it makes sense to go with the option of cheap replacements for the first bits that get buggered in any spill, no matter how small.

Sorry, I don't want to make a habit of posting by proxy<snip>
