Aftermarket le mans seat wanted, any condition
« on: January 04, 2016, 08:45:25 PM »
After any aftermarket le mans seat ie with plastic/fibreglass base that matches up to OE LM 1,2 ,3 mudguard.
Gaman, Corbin, Stucchi, Ago etc etc
Rips etc don't matter, will be upholstered (will do away with flap over rear of tank and reshape pillion seat)
Been stuffing around trying to make base from plastic stuff but would be much quicker to have start point, no-one makes what I want
Thanks
MH

how about this:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTO-GUZZI-LE-MANS-NEW-SEAT-BOX-62-/291640461865?hash=item43e7204a29:g:EjwAAOSwLVZVzzH7&vxp=mtr or this:   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-Lemans-III-Seat-/131652543397?hash=item1ea71a63a5:g:q3IAAOSw5ZBWFpqs&vxp=mtr. Also , Curts Harper may have a Giuliari( Hump back solo type) for LM1/2

thanks but old one is what I'm after, be a waste to cut up a new one, I only need the plastic/glass base
Anybody got split / broken one like that ebay link ?
Hump etc irrelevant really

I was after exactly what you are looking for and found  a fibreglass Gaman solo needing base repair and re-upholstery. It was slim pickins for a while , though. Will PM you if anything shows up on my radar.

I have an extra aftermarket fiberglass original style seat base for a LeMans 1&2, if that would help you. Nice condition and reasonable price. Email me for a pic if you think it might work for you.

email sent, ta
Guzzigray also came up with an old split orig rubber seat I'm going to try to recover but glass one much easier to attach cover to.

EDIT: Mark has mudguard assembly not aftermarket seat

Would still like Corbin, Gaman, Stucchi, Ago seat for LM 1/2/3 condition or shape irrelevant, damaged corbin g/fighter/lady perhaps ideal (is near to shape I want)

Thanks to all, will post pic of finished seat and slightly modded OE tank when done, main reason I have to make not buy is tank is now 3/4" taller for a bit of extra range and will have leather tank bag permanently mounted (bolted down at rear with studs at front for fuel access)
Both of these make OE style flap over rear of tank unworkable
Getting 'er  a comfortable seat the biggest challenge without being too high, modern idea of putting pillion a foot above rider is, in our opinion, mental. Can only work if rider is a foot taller than pillion, not us.
Getting on and off has to be easy too, yeah, I know, a big ask, just don't tell her that

Is like everything I do, purely about function, looks very secondary but form will follow function.
If it is right, it will look right, to me anyway
