Apparently Guzzis self combust if you get too many together

Dear Mr. Matson,,

We are writing at the direction of the Council of Owners at LMS 284 Gatehouse Place.

The Council would like to thank you for your attendance at the Council meeting held on January 12th, 2016 regarding the parking of your 4 motorcycles in one parking stall.
The Council considered the matter regarding the motorcycles and while they have the proper insurance and are not being stored they still pose a fire risk to the building. Therefore the Council must uphold the following Strata Corporation Rule:

H.        PARKING RULES

Not more than two motorcycles at a time shall be parked in a single parking space of the Strata Corporation parkade.

Council kindly asks that you have the 2 extra motorcycles removed from your parking stall within fourteen (14) days from the date of this letter.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Lets see, even when all are fully fueled you still have less fuel than the average SUV. I don't get it. Sorry.

Perhaps you can sub-lease another carpark that isn't being utilized?  Ideally, it should be the adjacent carpark.

I'm acting very conciliatory at the moment. It wasn't about fire risk at all, the Fire Inspector told me 3 bikes seemed reasonable, they lied  just being nasty, AGM coming up in July, I am putting a positive spin on it, sell my EV to fund the NZ trip.

Ridiculous.. I'd be looking for a Corvair to park there if they want a real fire hazard.

Is there any possible way you could park two of your bikes inside your unit?

Here's what I did with my wife's Vespa last winter:

2016 Moto Guzzi Norge
2015 Vespa Sprint 150

You should replace yourself with the worst Harley anti-social type you can find. Maybe they will think you weren't so bad after all.

With straight pipes and be sure it is an AMF era one so you leave enough oil on the ground for that to be a hazard.

Here, Roy, I think I've got it!

Buy the largest, cheapest van that will fit in your parking space, even if it has to be towed there.  Park the bikes inside.  An aluminum ramp will let you roll in and out easily.  You can put the two bikes least used toward the front and the frequent use bikes at the rear.

Want to piss em off?

I was thinking....... maybe parking a pickup full of propane cylinders would scare the crap out everyone.

or parking a fried electrical bike with dozens of hi voltage warning stickers would work too - also using a burned up charger that stinks is a nice added touch. Make it sound like the "Mouse that Roared" (Tick.. Tick. Buzzzt!)

or stick on bullet holes on your bikes and with the right accessories.....

By their definition, two in a space are ok. Sounds to me as if they want you to pay for two spaces. As I see it, there would be no difference except to their pocket. $$$ Seems unreasonable to me on their part. Driven by greed. The total amount of combustibles in your four bikes are probably no more than a car or truck that would occupy the same amount of space. (Gas, oil, etc.)

I don't recall how many years ago, but one of the nearby municipalities decided that you could not park more than one motorcycle in each parking spot along the street. Per their directive, a bunch of bikes came in early one day and legally occupied every single spot. Since the parking meters were kept fed, they could not be made to leave. The town rethought their decision shortly afterward.

I hope things work out in your favor.

There was a similar thread a couple weeks ago. IIRC, the OP spoke to the fire marshal who called it BS. Seems the person offended was some kind of camp Nazi.

I would suggest finding out if this is lawful and sue if necess

This is actually a great idea!

Or you could park an enclosed trailer there, with the bikes inside.

That might actually work - the nazis seem to object to anything that is "untidy", or not "usual" (I, too, have experience with such people - have one in my block), although their desire to control how others live their lives is unpredictable. Unnecessarily unpleasant. It also seems to help if if other residents with motorcycles move in. Keep up the fight anyway - hope you can get it straightened out.

Ha!  Now that wold be funny.

I know you're being smart and taking the high road on this, but I can't help but imagine two carpark spots, each with two bikes and you sitting between the two of them in a chair handing out free smiles to all who pass by.

Best of luck with all this. I've been down this road with a homeowners association. Here in the US they exist in a quasi governmental space that lets them get out of control really quickly but leaves them exempt from the checks to which most government agencies are held accountable.
