Guzzi Riders of Texas - Lockhart for lunch
« on: January 31, 2016, 04:14:25 PM »
A week ago, a few of us descended on Lockhart, Texas to enjoy some delicious BBQ.  Some folks go so far as to say it's the BBQ capital of Texas, there are a few good spots to indulge here!

Darrell on his Breva, Jack (JBell) on his Burgundy BMW K75, my buddy Rob in the 3 wheel Morgan and the trusty Silver Norge...

A great day of riding, excellent lunch and enjoyable company on a beautiful easy 300 mile day of riding.  The Morgan gets more attention than any motorcycle I've ever seen...my buddy Rob certainly enjoys the paparazzi who show up at every stop to take pictures!

A few pics of the days event...to be repeated I'm sure!

Likewise Jack...if the cards line up properly, may see you at COTA later this year if I'm in town.

Greg...anytime chief...perfect days for riding, name the time/place and we'll be there!!

Sorry we missed a chance for good que.

A number of years ago I was riding in Mass. Conn., one of them foreign countries and I spotted a drivein that had bbq. I ordered one and peeled back the bun to put some hot sauce on it. GET A ROPE. It was a mixture of carrot, celery, onion and some meat. I told the waitress there must be a mistake. She said that was bbq. I never said another word and choked the horrid thing down.
Can you imagine serving something like that here in the Lone Star State?

Tex

Good story indeed!  Next time Tex...we'll pick a spot...maybe it's time again for the Texas Equidistant Ride...but someplace tastier than the cafĂ© in Hearne, although we did have great turn out at that one!

Yeah , it ain't Texas BBQ unless it is capable of causing cancer just by smelling it  Also doesn't hurt if it contains at least 5% armadillo
