Dyna 3 timing with engine out?
« on: February 01, 2016, 12:30:06 PM »
I have the instructions from Dyna and they seem to make sense. Question: can I set up a battery and test light with the engine on the bench to confirm proper timing?
Thanks in advance!

Yes and No.  If you have a lot of money you can have race engine shop set your timing.  But, that is  much different than have rear wheel hp loss, electric signals, etc.  You should at least build the bike and then try to start it.  It shouldn't be too difficult to spin the distributor or even change cam timing.

I've not done the Dyna 3, but I've done the Dyna S that way, so I'd assume, yes.
