New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I've got these in both my V7's, they work very well, and consume 20 Watts on low, and 25 Watts on high, giving you back 30 Watts for your heated gear or aux lighting. http://stores.advmonster.com/h4-mesh-monster-led-headlight/
My '12 V7 is supposed to put out 350 watts of electrical power, I'm guessing your Classic is similar but it might be less. Since I like to run electric gear too I was concerned about the draw from my GPS (minimal) and the heated gear since the electric fuel pump and ECU suck up quite a bit of electrons. Using a very simple ammeter (orange/green/red) I found that the bike was discharging at idle after startup and often at idle after running...with no extra drain. After about 3.5K rpm there was enough charge to run everything just fine. I'd recommend hooking up a meter after you get all your stuff installed to see exactly what it takes to avoid a discharge situation. Putting around in the back woods at slow speed with all your gear on might leave you stranded. Our friend Leafman60 had that problem with a 650 BMW.My Stelvio has 550 watts of power so there is lots to spare.Peter Y.
1. Try the stock V7 bars - you may not need risers. Otherwise, I'd suggest the Laverda-style multi-adjustable bars from Raask - google those - the combination of adjustments is almost unlimited & once you find your most comfortable angles, you could, if wanted, get something else to emulate that.2. The Guzzi screen has solid brackets, but are not clip-on, clip-off. Not a big job to remove, getting the angles right on re installation would come with practice.3. No experience with off-road tyres, I don't do so much dirt.4. The alternator on the Cafe Classic, like the Claasic, has a higher output than the single throttle body models, I believe, but on both I've had no trouble running heated liners, the phone charger, heated grips, Denali D2 LED driving lights, as well as using a portable LED searchlight while camping overnight. It should take whatever you can throw at it, but if you do add the HID, add up the likely draw, just in case it's marginal.5. No experience with any other than the two common seats.Good luck, and welcome to the club, you're up for lots of fun.
Interesting Jas67 Haven't see this before. What exactly do they do?
For the seats there are at least two interesting alternatives: first, Corbin (expensive here in Europe), and second, Bagster. They modify the original seat. You can choose from a lot of options.
