IMO- Young, Dylan, Springsteen, Bowie, Petty; GREAT writers of songs that I wish would have let others sing them. They're like listening to a loooooong skid before a crash. I know, I know, again just my opinion.

I'm usually listening to Neil when working in my shop at home. The depth of the music is what makes it good.

There's nothing stopping others singing their songs.  If they can make it more attractive, then they'll sell heaps.  It happens all the time.

Get ahold of Chimes of Freedom.. 4 discs/over 70 Dylan songs by other artists.. some are outstanding, maybe better than the man himself..

We had the Byrds version of Chimes of Freedom on an LP bellowing out through the 19 odd speakers hooked up to Rockin' Pneumonia ( a Phillips radio/stereogram - quite powerful for it's day). Great song, especially with Jin McGuinn (sp?) on that Rickenbacker 12 stringer! :thumb: :thumb:
