The rider leaves his legs hanging down w/ feet near the ground, cuz that's the only way that thing is going to stop. Feet = brakes? :cheesy:

Pity the photo's not in color.  The rider's red suspenders are not quite visible against his dark shirt.

That bike is a board-track racer, no brakes required.

Later that day, Pierre hit a bump in the road an landed on the rear tire.  After recovering from the castration, he went on to invent the rear fender and sissy bar.
