Just a reminder that the Penrite Broadford Bike Bonanza is coming up.

"Forget the chocolate eggs because the 1957 Moto Guzzi V8 racer is going to be doing laps at the Broadford Road Race Circuit from Good Friday till Easter Sunday. A sight and sound not to be missed

Moto Guzzi is the featured marque this year and the best collection of Moto Guzzi factory race bikes ever seen south of the Mandello museum will be on display. All the iconic single-cylinder racers from the 50s and Dakar dirt bikes from the mid-80s."

I hope to be heading up on the Saturday.

Bugger to far away/too close to easter to actually organise things, in the spirit of living vagariously through someone else lots of photo's and a vid or two if you can manage it. If you see someone associated with the factory as them when they are going to stop making over weight retro !@#$heaps and start making bikes people might actually want to buy, the answer should be a good bit of corporate double speak at least.

I will be there. Riding my RD250 though.

Looking forward to seeing the Guzzi display.  Saw the V8 at the IOM  TT a few years ago. Wont forget that for a long time.

I'm assuming JSA (importers of Guzzi/Aprilia for those playing at home) pulled their fingers out and invited Coatesy with his MGS.

I don't believe that JSG or any Guzzi dealers have any involvement in the event.

The racing Guzzis were all organized by Teo Lamers. He's bought property in Australia and spends a lot of time out here. The rest of the display of garden variety Guzzis comes from members of the Guzzi club and the Classic Italian Association of Australia.

Took the back way to Broadford this morning. Had a great ride up through the twisties on the LeMans

Huge Guzzi turnout and I managed to catch up with all the usual suspects. My god, the average Guzzi owner is getting older and older. Makes me feel young at sixty  :azn:

Took some pics for those that couldn't make it.

The Factory Bikes out from Italy

1939 500

1953 350

1951 500 V Twin

1940 Supercharged 250

1956 350

The V8

Starting the V8. Couldn't get within twenty feet! It was only running on 4 cylinders so didn't make it out on the track.

Early Magni Australia with one of the original six prototype 4 valve engines

MGS01  There were two there on the day

A Bunch of Racing Guzzis.

Number 1 of 100 Daytona Racing

Drysdale V8 (In back is the PGM 2 litre V8 with over 300hp)

Dakar 750  4 valve next to 650 2 valve

Guzzis Galore
