Moto Guzzi bird logo for tank
« on: April 05, 2016, 04:16:24 PM »
Any idea where this logo came from? I would love to get one for my café racer tank, I think that it looks very modern.

Please let me know if you know of anywhere selling these as decals.

thanks,

The stick bird? At any rate, there are many sources for Guzzi decals.

With that good a picture, a decal guy could cut that for you easily. Either make a press on or a paint mask.

If it's on a white Stornello, it's a custom project that, as I recall, Danilo Gurovich did (https://danilogurovich.wordpress.com/). He might still have a membership here- but hasn't been active.

I just want the bird, not the text.

I guess I can make it myself easy enough. I made the 2 color RS decal and the numbers on this bike with a x-acto knife.

I understood it was a factory logo from the 40's

Had it saved for a couple years now for a project. classy

That's the same eagle used in the V7 Adventure bike thread.
It links to this video where you can see it.

I had a decal that I wanted for my guzzi and couldn't find one anywhere and I found a guy that would make it for me. All he needed was a picture, like the one you posted, and he made it for me.  If you'd like I'll try to find his name or website. I think he's in Australia.

I recall seeing this among the various Guzzi logos shown in the big Guzzi book by Columbo. Some years ago there was a fellow on an older Guzzi list who made some. And, finally, I bought a few. Let me dig around and see if I can find any.

Looks great, nice paint color and final logo! In regards the original question; If I remember correctly, that logo came from a custom bike designer that was competing on a an Italian reality-type show on Sky TV last year (or early this year) called "Lord of the Bikes"

Thanks,
I haven't painted in 10 years, other then the frame on this bike.

I got two drips in the clear but they are in a easy place to fix.

The logo could have been better, but the mask I was using was 10+ years old and I was too cheap to buy new stuff. I also forgot that no longer getting the newspaper would be an issue as I didn't have anything to mask the tank with - other than gift wrapping paper.

That's a nice lemans (or café) love the colors on it too!

Ad far as making the logo, I think you did a great job. Liquid Latex is also a great product to use in lieu of masking tape for stuff like that.
