Stelvio NTX fuel overflow tube
« on: April 19, 2016, 05:20:46 PM »
Weird thing today when getting home.  Bike hasn't been ridden in two weeks.  Tanks is not full, but there is fuel on my garage floor that looks like came from the overflow/vent tube.

Ever hear of that?  Maybe humidity/temperature increase in garage condensing fumes into liquid?

Weird.

Happens to me every time I stuff the tank. If it's warm out, even more so.

Yep, bone stock.  I cracked the fuel cap and it seems to have subsided.  Probably due to the fact that the tank is almost full and the temperature was up in the garage today.

That happened to me also when I stuffed the tank. I usually pay by cc but that time I paid cash and the pump stopped with about $1 left. I didn't want to go back into the office so I kept filling. I thought I had spilled some gas. With the huge tank I usually just fill it about 80%.
I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Yep, bone stock.

Mine was a nuisance.  Kept sucking in the tank (with resulting hissing noise when I'd take the cap off) and not venting at all when full.  I finally tossed all of it.

OH. That's what that occasional fuel odor is when I start my S up. Maybe I should refrain fro tippy-topping it up.
