Breva 1100 pinch bolts
« on: May 07, 2016, 02:54:42 PM »
What are the torque settings for the front axle pinch bolts?

I've found the axle torque (80Nm) but despite searching high and low I can't find the torque for the pinch bolts at the bottom of the legs

Can anyone help?

Cheers

For small screws & bolts, I prefer to use a short spanner (wrench) rather than a torque wrench.  I believe I can "feel" the right amount, I'm never impressed with what the torque wrench offers.

YMMV.

Yeah, me too. Torque wrenches are for amateurs, head, flywheel, and con rod bolts.  Oh yeah.. propeller bolts.

I usually do small fasteners by feel too but having read about the dangers of cracking the end of the fork leg if the clamp bolts are over tightened was a bit concerned!!!!
Feel for about 1Nm it is

Don't know if it's the same as the Norge, but on mine I use a T handle Allen wrench, but also make sure you have the torque the same on both bolts, 'cos as you nip one up, the other will need a touch again. Just use "feel" and approach the desired torque in gentle increments.
