Suggestions on CrashBar, engine guards ? V7II 2016
« on: May 08, 2016, 12:09:41 PM »
Hello all,
I need your professional suggestions on this purchase.
I have seen a few different ones available and wanted to see if any other rider has installed them on there V7.

I have seen only through photos the 2 offered from Guzzitech
OEM and the
HB

I have also looked at at both offered on MGcycle.

Not sure which to choose ?

The one that looks as if it offers a lot of protection is the one from  MGcycle. But looking at the photo looks like there is an odd piece toward where it attaches to the frame.

Thank you all again.

I have the Hepco Becker ones. The ones that come over the top of the head may well produce more damage to the head in an accident. My two cents worth?

Can you share a few pics. Front and side?
Was it simple to install.

Not sure if you saw these on GT?  I went this way.  Others have put on sliders which I like too as the are basically hidden.

Sorry, GT is GuzziTech.  He machined some head guards that "sandwich" between the cover and head.  They are much larger than normal and will hopefully provide me some relief when I ultimately drop it in the garage.  :>

I have got v65 Florida crash bars on mine.  Only ones I could find that were wide enough to protect the heads on the stone engine

HI bertoguzzi, I just bought the crash bars from mgcycle because out of all the ones I've seen on line, they were the ones that look the most discreet (they wrap around the cylinder and they don't stick out like a sore thumb). That said, I tried to install them yesterday and after one hour I gave up. Not sure if there is a design flaw or I am just not doing it correctly (given my past experience in putting stuff together,it's probably the latter). I will give it another try once I have more time. The issue for me was trying to install the plate that goes in the centre.

Was wondering if anybody else bought this same engine guard and was able to successfully install it. If so,please let me know how it can be done as the instructions that came with it are not good.

Thanks

Thanks for the info.
I ordered the one that wrapped around.
Once I receive it I will let you Lorengo70 to see if I find installation difficult.

Thanks for photo Clancy,
It looks awesome the attention to detail and boring out the plastic piece truly made a nice finishing touch.

If I do not like what the wrap around bar looks like I will definitely go with what you have done.

Thank you

Mine are identical to yours except they were from Agostini (who probably sell them to or buy them from H&B).  I do admire your modded bolt covers.  I bet you could sell a few of those to folks like me who aren't as fabricationally adept.

Sorry Sib, I'm stupid.
Mine are Agostini.
I've corrected my original post.
