So I thought I'd do a side by side comparison.  I'll let you judge.

You can see that a properly operating vent is crucial to overall performance.
But personally I don't see the resemblance.

I rest my case.

Whales in a river?.........that's not supposed to be good.  Were they feeding on salmon?

Probably an inlet, like Chilkat.

It's a classic glacial fijord.  It's called Silver Bay.  Those are humpback whales, part of our resident crew.  They are "baleen" rather than "toothed" whales, which means they gulp and strain water to get the food out of it.  They like herring and krill.  When those pics were taken the herring were running and the fijord was a very busy brunch venue for seal, sea lions, orca, gray and humpback whales, a few varieties of porpoises, and of course eagles and sea ducks.

Chilkat is a good guess -- looks very similar, but it's a few hundred miles north of me, at Haines.

I once kayaked up along side of a humpy whale farting like that but I let him go.
I didn't have room in the refrigerator  for him.

I think you're short an electron there, Ion.   :boozing:
