Mistral? Geez..............
« on: May 23, 2016, 06:41:41 PM »
I just bought $629 Mistral mufflers. I wanted them today so I rode 175 miles round trip to get them. Yes, the ride was nice....
I get home, all excited to put them on my 2013 V7 Stone and they ............... don't.....come with the gaskets............ . $629? and no gaskets? The installation guide says use the old ones. Ever try to get used gaskets out of old mufflers?
Raise the price $10 and include the fricking gaskets! Now I have to wait a day to get the gaskets.
It was a nice ride!..........

You need to understand -- this is the first time ratguzzi has ever bought something nice for a bike.  His idea of an "upgrade mod" is to take a shotgun to the windscreen.  So he doesn't know how the process works.  Be nice to him.

I don't think you need to use gaskets with Agostini or Mistral mufflers.

If you apply a little heat to the old mufflers you should be able to reuse them. They're pretty fragile so go easy. You do need them with Mistrals.

FWIW - I added Mistrals recently to my bike.  Think ~$585 or so from MG Cycle.  I chatted with Gordon and I opted not to get the gaskets as my bike only had 550 miles on it.  I used a hair dryer on them and still could not remove them without damaging them.  I ordered the $10 gaskets and kicked myself for being a cheap ba$tard when I got the pipes.  You do need a gasket for these and I didn't on my old V11 with Mistrals.

Anyway, you will be quite happy when you get them hooked up and going.  Very nice sound and although others may be better these are the best bang for the buck.

Here is mine with those pipes.  They are so much cleaner looking and lighter than the stock.

I stand corrected about gaskets being needed with Mistral cans. That is good to know. I have been considering a Mistral silencer for my Norge.

Jeff - May depend on model.....ask when you order....my old V11 with Mistral did not have them.
