I was out and about the other day and saw an EV going down the freeway with one 30 liter bag on the left and the larger 40 liter on the right side.  Has anyone ever done this and what were the results? It would seem to change the balance a little.

I'll do that depending what I'm putting in them.  Some times I only use 1 bag.  You hardly feel it in handling so no big deal.

The combo is sold on fleabay as an Adventure set or something like that. Not sure why you would want one of each??

On some bikes the rack places one back further out on one side than the other. This would normally be because a high exhaust doesn't allow for the rack to sit as close to the body of the bike on one side.

In that case, different sized bags mean your luggage sticks out the same amount on both sides. It is good for estimating how much space you need to squeeze through a gap.

They're sold that way due to a high, single-sided exhaust being common with certain bikes.

I didn't think about the exhaust issue on some bikes. Now I understand.

I've seen literature from H&B that shows the 30/40 combo being sold as a set, so I would conclude that H&B considers the combo to be OK to install and use.

ive got the 40/30 combo on my TT , works well and no problems with balance
