Question about risers for clip-on style bars.

Not for the Norge, already have those made up but for a standard style clip-on.

I thought about making up a cap that increased the length of the fork tube above the top triple clamp thus providing more height to raise the clip-on style bars. I can get it two of the caps made up for the price of the aluminum, far less than fitting some kind of attachment to use round bars.

I'll be fitting new SS brake lines anyway and I can get them to allow for the additional bar height.

Any safety concerns

Well, I don't know the design of these extended caps, but they need to have something to positively keep them from unscrewing, that's for sure.  I've heard of pinning them, for example.

Convertibars are nice but far too price at over $300 just to raise the bars 1". Also, I don't need that much adjustability, just a simple increase in height. The added effect is a slight pull back as well.

I think the answer is the longer tube caps and a brace between the two bars to prevent the possibility of them turning and thus unscrewing the caps. I thought about pinning them which would do the same thing but the connecting brace is easier to make, at least for me.
