Mille shock mount?

Please help -- I'm stumped. How to withdraw this stud to remove the shock, not to mention the grab bar?

on mine it's an Allen head bolt running through the grab bar, shock, then threads into the frame.

Looks like someone installed a chrome cap in the screw head. Pop it out with a flat blade screwdriver and you should be good to go.

the grab bar is also secured  with bolts running from inside the tailpiece, through the bodywork and threading into the bar. There's a plastic toolbox you remove for inside tailpiece access.

Those little caps were standard for Guzzi back then, and I believe there is a part number if you're so inclined to replace it with a new one.

When I first saw your pic I thought it was a snapped off hex.  Other comments are likely that it just has a cosmetic cap.  I did a quick Google for 'Allen bolt cover'.  You likely have something like this which just pries out with a screwdriver or knife blade.

You can buy little caps that will fit in the allen head bolts from ACE Hardware.  I bought some for the Strada.  So as mentioned, pry out then use an allen wrench for the rest.

Whoops! Screwed that one up, sorry. Forgot that the bolt passes through the grab bar, then threads into the shock mount, not the frame.
