Any reports/pics from Duluth? I was unable to go. It looked like perfect weather!

I was lost again Brad, wonder how the weather was, I kept checking the Duluth weather but I think it may have stormed in Grand Marais.

Right now it's 88f in Duluth and 64 in GM. Bet it's a beautiful ride down the N shore till you hit Duluth.
I didn't make it this year either.. See you at Elkader?

Weather was very good. Just a few short sprinkles Saturday evening, rest was dry and cool.

And a good time was had by all. Whoever planned that perfect weather could you call in some clouds for the rest of my ride home now?
For those of you who helped me out with my battery troubles many thanks again. I did get to a parts store in Duluth and the Norge has a brand new battery and is behaving herself again.  :bike-037:
Of course all they had that would fit was a $250 size 7 lithium, but beggars can't be choosers. I'll just have to be careful not to run this one down so it doesn't blow up while I'm sitting on it.  :lipsrsealed:

I only stayed Friday night and pulled out around noon on Saturday. Weather was nice but a bit on the chilly side Friday night. Great dinner on Friday night!

Great rally!

Talked to a lot of cool people, seen some sweet bikes, hit some nice roads and ate some absolutely fantastic food.

The blow-out in Solon Springs on the spoked front wheel at 65mph wasn't fun but hey, can't get everything.

Next year I'll make room for a spare tube and some tools.

what's the rest of the story? how far did you have to ride the tow? why were you in Solon Springs? W35 is more pleasant than 53 (for me anyway).

Elkader is near your own backyard, going?

I probably wouldn't have been on 53 if I hadn't been running late. I generally ride secondary roads or whatever gravel I can find. I did portions of 35w on the way back home. The crosswinds on 53 was absolutely horrible on Sunday.

The tube blew on Hwy 53 just a few hundred yards north of the Dollar General store. Next to that was an LP gas dealer. An employee there took the time out to help me which was very, very cool. I bought her lunch at a local bar while we waited for the tow.

I was carrying extra gear for the rally so I gambled and left all my tools and spare tubes at home. Murphys Law finally caught up to me.

The tow was to Superior to a place called "Color and Chrome". It was an indy cycle shop that seemed to specialize in H-D. Despite being Friday afternoon and swamped with carry-in rims needing tires for the weekend, they got a new tube installed while I waited. Very cool of them to do that for me. Good people.

I'll consider hitting Elkader. It's less than two hours south of me. I really need a Guzzi shirt.

The one thing I wanted to do but didn't accomplish was to revisit Kevin's collection up on the hill.

Next time!

John, it was a damn hot weekend, killed 5-6 people (unlike a normal year it went from real warm to GD Hot! ASAP which I think messed with judgement calls). I'd like to move out of here in the summer - if not full time.

Hit Man; some nice shots there. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone eat at Sven and Oli's Pizza? I jut realized, I have not been to Grand Marias for about 30 years. I think the last time I was there I was on a date with the gal I ended marrying.
