The wiring nightmare gets worse
« on: June 04, 2016, 07:13:54 PM »
Previously, I had concentrated my attention to the wiring mess that was stuffed into the battery box [the battery had been replaced by a large marine battery in a wooden box attached to the right side saddlebag frame.]  Today, Annie and I decided we shoud check the entire harness out.  It was even worse.  We found the original problem; a butt connector that was improperly crimped, and other worse problems, like a straight wired ignition key.  Here are some pics.  The plan is to have the Guzzi running by tomorrow.  I will post a video if it runs.

It appears that nobody before me had the nerve to point out that working with Annie looks like anything but a nightmare.

I'll do my best to include her in my dreams tonight  :azn:
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

When I see that: source a stock loom.

That was my first inclination; but then I began to reade about the Guzzi wiring failures and I figured if the original was such a great piece of technology, I would not have bought a bike that someone had made all these "REPAIRS" to.

We worked all day yesterday and got everything sorted; but we had a party to attend and a greasy Annie does not look good in gime and heels.  She and Barbie got cleaned up, dressed up and we attended a friend's commitment ceremony.  Hopefully, we can have it running after work tonight.  The three of us are planning on taking the Guzzi to a concert this Friday.
