Elkart Lake
« on: June 12, 2016, 08:10:04 PM »

A friend of mine sent me this picture from Elkart Lake. Looks like a 97 Sport with a 1200 engine and carburated? Am I seeing this right?

Its Rosco.  Run by Michigan Engineering.  Its a bored 1200 Stelvio motor in a spine frame with parts from several bikes, it is not FI.

I spoke to the owner.  I'm pretty sure it was injected, but I've been wrong before....

It *was* injected, but last year it DNF because of surging at WOT. Looks carbed now.

Could it have been hitting the rev limiter?

It is a carbureted 1400 top end and is still surging at WOT.

The ARMA results don't look to good.  I didn't make the scene this year, but the web site doesn't even mention the bike making any of the races.

I'd have that sucker on the dyno and find out what's going on. The Kid and I talked about it last year and agreed we'd keep adding fuel until it quit doing that or fouled plugs.
