New tires for a Le Mans 3 recommendations?
« on: July 05, 2016, 11:42:20 AM »
I've used the Pirelli sport demons and a Bridgestone spitfire 11r, all with tubes on this bike. I'm staying with tubes, and considering the Michelin pilot actives, since they are a bias ply tire.

My stock sizes are front- 100/90x18 and the rear is a 110/90x18.

Looking for good stick, decent mileage.

Any one have pro and con opinions on the pilot actives, or recommendations for other brands?

The last 2 sets I burned up on my LM3 before the crash was Avon Venoms, 100 on front and a 130 on rear, nice & sticky, great feel.

So I can fit a 130 on the stock rims.

I like the Pilot Activ tires.

Good feel, good grip, good wear.

I like the Pilot Activ tires.

Good feel, good grip, good wear.

I just installed these as the second set on my newly finished LMIV project. Good tires, good traction, good wet, and wear like iron.
Something wistful and amusing, yet poignant.

That's what I used, replace rear frame/tailpiece pivot bolts w/buttonhead on inside & locknut on outside. Otherwise you will contact nuts on the sidewall. I have a swingarm now that accepts a newer Centauro rim.
