Yes, that is Chris from Tyler Guzzi. Chris takes real good careof his Guzzis. Even if the mileage isn't correct, I wouldn't worry about it.

He has on a number of first place prizes with that stunning color combo.

Enjoy,Tex

Also, whenever you order new front brake pads, specify you have the gold colored calipers. Earlier 01's had silver calipers and the pads are different.

You guys are too awesome!
You don't know how much I appreciate your advice and input.
Makes me real confident about my purchase.
I rode a 99 EV in a neighborhood here for a few minutes. Only Guzzi I've seen in person here in Amarillo. One of my friend's brother has his dad's (deceased) 99 EV. I thought he was going to sell it so I went over to his house to look at it. He asked me if I wanted to ride it and I said sure. First time I'd met this guy. He didn't want to sell it, he is just a real nice guy. How many people let a stranger ride their bike?
Anyway, I thought it sounded like a diesel and was clunky when shifting gears. Glad I have one experience to relate the new one to. I might've freaked when I heard the new one.
I'll go over to the Introductions thread and...
introduce myself properly.
Thanks again!

It's just because I wanted a taste of them all: loops, Tontis, spines, big and small blocks. The newest was a Norge, and I expect it'll be the last new one. I probably have my "wind up" (the ones you wind up with) bikes now.

drburt, welcome to the madness. I think that one has to be a little bit out in left field to own one but as others have already said, "after a Guzzi daaarling, there is simply nothing else".

AND, good to see you back Lannis.

Delayed retrieval!
Seller called me yesterday and told me that the speedo cable broke on a final test ride by a mechanic. Replacement won't be in until middle of next week.
I think I'll get a spare clutch cable for the ride home just in case.
Any other spare part to have in my kit?
Thanks all!

I usually carry an extra clutch cable rolled up in my luggage.  Good to ensure I never need it!

I've never kept a spart speedo cable, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea...

Speedo cables do break, but not often.  Just a random event for your new bike, I suppose.  Hard to believe AF1 didn't have a cable in stock.
